At Bilin Academy, there are two ways to register for a class:
1. Join an Existing Class:
We regularly have group classes that already have students enrolled, and some of these classes still have open spots. You can choose to join these classes if the schedule works for you.
2. Request to Start a New Class:
If you don’t see a class that fits your schedule, you can request to open a new class. We will help you form a new group or arrange a private class based on your preferred time.
Yes! Actually most of our students begin with a trial class. This is a single, one-time session that offers a chance to get a feel of the teaching style and class format before committing to purchasing a class package. You can request a trial class for a particular teacher or subject.
A class package is a bundle of sessions (for example, 10, 15, or more classes). When you purchase a package, your child’s spot in the class is secured for the same day and time each week for the duration of the package.
After you decide to continue with the class, you can purchase a class package:
1. Fill out our “Request a Class” form to let us know your child’s interests, your preferred time slots, and whether you are looking for a group class or a 1-on-1 class.;
2. We will contact you to confirm teacher availability and schedule.
3. Once everything is confirmed, we will create the class package for you and guide you to complete the payment process.
Bilin Academy offers classes on different virtual platforms depending on the subject, teacher, and student location. Each platform may have its own setup process. Below is a step-by-step guide for each one:
Zoom or VooV (Most Common):
Step 2: Log into your Bilin Academy account on our website and go to “My Account.”
Step 3: Click the “Join Class” button to enter the class directly, or use the Meeting ID and passcode we provide to join the session through Zoom or VooV.
ClassIn (Used for Go/Weiqi and Japanese Classes):
Step 1: Download the ClassIn meeting app on your device.
Step 2: Register an account with your mobile phone number.
Step 3: Send us your phone number via WeChat (ID: bilinstudio) or email (learn@bilinacademy.com) so we can link your account to the class.
Step 4: Log into ClassIn and click “Enter” next to your class to join the session.
音乐宝 YinYueBao (Used for Certain Music Instrument Classes):
Step 1: Download 音乐宝 (YinYueBao) meeting app from the App Store.
Step 2: Register an account on the app.
Step 3: We will send you a QR code to join your class.
Our policies differ depending on the type of class and how it was booked:
For Chinese Art and Chess Classes
You may cancel a session at least 24 hours in advance and receive the credits back to your Bilin account. These credits can be used for any other class on our website.
For Most Other Classes (Including Group or Private Classes Requested by You)
Individual session cancellations are not allowed. This is because these classes are often scheduled specifically for your child or your small group, and teachers reserve that time for you. Instead, we offer two options to reschedule:
1. Postpone the Entire Class Schedule: You can push all future sessions back by one week. For example, if you miss this week’s class, next week’s class will cover this week’s material.
2. Reschedule the Missed Session: You may request a new time for the missed session (subject to teacher availability—not guaranteed).
We understand that plans can change. If you need to withdraw from a class before completing your package, we offer two options.
1. Receive a cash refund (service fees apply).
2. Keep the remaining balance as credits in your Bilin Academy account. Please contact us directly to discuss the best option for you.
Yes, you can request a refund for unused general credits (credits that are not tied to a specific class package). To request this, contact us via WeChat (ID:bilinstudio) or email us at learn@bilinacademy.com.
If your unused credits are part of a specific class package you started, then the refund will follow the same withdrawal policy mentioned above.
Important Note: The $10 new account welcome credit is a one-time gift and is not refundable or transferable to cash.
